Trust in the Lord.....its all in the FAITH! by Rateep Jose
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
It is faith ,that is all you need.....and you have everything! Let me quote you a small incident that happend to me today evening..... Like most of us,being the season of lent,myself and stephen try and make it for the Holy Mass everyday. We usually go to the St. Josephs Church(which is closer to Technopark) at 5:30 or the Assisi Church(which is a little more farther) at 5:45. Anyways, That day Stephen informed me that the St Joseph Church had the Holy Mass in the morning and so there would be no mass in the evening,so we planned to go to Assisi Church. Since Assisi church is a little farther than St Josephs Church,we would have to leave from Technopark at 5:35 to make it there at sharp 5:45 in a nomial speed of 40-50km/h. My timing in my workplace winds up at 5:30 but at that time i was in a discussion with my Project Lead(PL). The talk had gone for about 10 mins. After that i was just rushing out to meet Stephen who was apparently waiting for me near his office. It so happend that Stephen's PL had seen him and enquired why he was waiting outside. Being in a tight project and with time constraints and also not seeing me there he left for his workplace. By the time i got there it was 5:45(and he wasnt there....obviously). When i called him up ,he said his PL is with him so he has no chances of making it to church. Seeing that i was already late ,a thought ran over my head "should i go or get back to my workplace?wouldnt i be late before the Gospel reading".....but dunno,something told me that i will be there in time.....and there i left speeding on my bike. Speed went over 70km/h and the next thing i know was passing by a place where there was checking going on by the Highway Police. Even before they could show me their hand was i had passed by them.I am pretty sure thay had noted me .Definitely i was speeding and would have ended up with a fine!..... Anyway I reached the Church.....boy was i late!.....the Gospel reading was going on....I just closed my eyes and pondered on what the Father was reading.....since i had missed the first little part of the reading, i just said to the Lord "God.....i really wanted to hear the part of the reading that i had missed(Funny though deep down i knew that was impossible)..... Being a weekday mass the Gospel readings are not explained by the Priest.....and there!!!!! the next thing i knew he was giving his thought abt that reading.....the whole reading(can u imagine that!!!!...it never has happend before!!).....I was Elated!!!!! It was like an instantenous response from God!....hehehe..... Soon after the mass was over,i left for my workplace,i had to get a lot of things done with...there was loads of documentation to be completed by this weekend. And on top of all that, a rehersal for a western group song for the Tech-a-break(Technopark cultural fest) was scheduled at 6:00 that day.....the time already being half past 6 , i again raced my bike off to the workplace......and There i meet the same Highway police who had noted me on my way to church!......two police again noted me and from far signalled me to pull over!one of the constables obviously sneering which seemed to me like "u wont get away this time"..... boy!!! was i in trouble! Put it this way to you,the Officer in charge was in a pretty bad mood!...he was having an altercation with one of the drivers who had pulled over..... My luck seemed running over,i had oversped twice and worse..... i had forgot to get my papers(insurance papers).....yeah!....big trouble.....all i knew i did be loosing atleast 500 bucks.....to make matters worse,i didnt take my wallet that day!.....sob!....that would mean that i would have to WALK back home and collect the bike from the police station the next day..... One thing just went over me when i was there waiting for my turn......i said to the Lord.....Lord i took all that pain to reach here to see u ....to recieve u.....HELP ME! Being te hnext personin the queue,the officer called me and he asked for the papers....BINGO....i didnt have em......so i told him that i had forgotten to get the papers.....and u know what!!!!....he said : u can go!!!!! Shocked !!!yeah i was shocked!!!!so were the other drivers waiting in the queue!!!!everyone there was clueless,some had a look at me as though i was some very influential person or something!!!!!..... God delivered me! Call up the lord!..... yeah i am reminded abt the song: I will call upon the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised, So shall i be saved from my enemies, I will call upon the Lord Faith!!!!.....u have the Faith that God will deliver u.....even the mountains would move!!!!........
